NTT Application Security and Rural Sourcing Partner to Offer First One-stop Solution for Identifying and Remediating Application Security Threats

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 14, 2019–NTT Application Security, the leading application security provider committed to securing digital business, today announced that it has partnered with Rural Sourcing, the leading provider of US-based IT outsourcing services, to offer the industry’s first one-stop solution to identify and remediate application level exposures.

The two companies will combine the comprehensive, SaaS-based NTT Application Security Platform with Rural Sourcing’s vulnerability remediation services to alleviate the challenges of DevSecOps and help organizations enjoy the benefits of digital transformation without the security headaches.

“Companies looking to secure their digital business are acutely aware of application level vulnerabilities but lack the resources to identify and fix them in a timely manner,” said Derek Perry, vice president, Innovation at Rural Sourcing. “Whether utilizing inhouse or offshore resources, there are significant challenges to overcome, which can be addressed by sourcing IT resources onshore. NTT and Rural Sourcing bring a unique combination of technology and talent, which can identify and remediate application-based threats, ensuring a company’s digital business is properly defended.”

The NTT Application Security Platform provides the services required to secure the entire software lifecycle (SLC) from the development/test phase through deployment and operation. The technologies include1) software composition analysis (SCA), which identifies where reusable components are within applications and detects any vulnerabilities present, 2) static application security testing (SAST) for scanning source code of the most commonly-used programming languages, identifying vulnerabilities, and providing actionable vulnerability reports, and 3) dynamic application security testing (DAST), which continuously scans websites as they evolve, providing automatic detection and assessment of code changes and alerting for newly discovered vulnerabilities.

The platform pulls from 18 years of data on application vulnerabilities and more than 100 million verified attack vectors identified by the NTT Threat Research Center.

Now, the partnership with Rural Sourcing enables organizations to take application security one step further. Joint customers will have access to hundreds of Rural Sourcing’s application development experts that scan the vulnerabilities identified by NTT and implement the fix, saving time and resources.

“The NTT platform was designed to enable true DevSecOps and help companies catch critical vulnerabilities in their code before it’s too late,” said Debbie Klett, director of Channels, NTT Application Security. “While we’ve always provided guidance on remediating these issues, the Rural Sourcing partnership will enable customers to leave that final step in the hands of some of the industry’s top experts, so they can focus on growing their business. We are thrilled to begin this joint effort in making application security more accessible for all organizations.”

This integration is now available through the companies’ direct sales teams and through the NTT Application Security Partnership Program’s DevSecOps Level 2 and 3 partners in the U.S. and EMEA.

Both companies have recently garnered significant industry recognition. Rural Sourcing was named a Gartner “Cool Vendor,” and NTT won three categories from Cyber Defense Magazine’s 2019 InfoSec Awards for Best Product, Web Application Security; Most Innovative, Software Security Tools; and Best Product, Application Security Testing; was named a Contender in The Forrester Wave™: Software Composition Analysis, Q2 2019; and its partner program was given a five-star rating in CRN’s 2019 Partner Program Guide.
