Streamlining Patient-Provider Communication for Large Healthcare System

challenge

Communication Barriers Leading to Dissatisfaction

A large healthcare system faced significant communication issues between patients and providers across its hospitals. Physicians struggled to communicate with patients in their preferred way because the existing technology couldn’t store or access patients’ communication preferences easily. This problem threatened to increase provider turnover due to their frustration with the inefficient system. The healthcare provider needed a technology partner to develop a user-friendly solution capable of managing large datasets.

solution

New Physician Notification System

To address this need, our team designed and built the Primary Care Physician Notification System from the ground up, in collaboration with the client’s Field Operations team. We led the development of the front-end architecture and conducted thorough testing to ensure quality.  Key functions included:

  • A web-based form for physicians to specify their notification preferences Collection of clinical data for each specified patient event
  • Notification of patient events in a timely fashion with immediate provider notification once events are entered into the system

results

Improving Patient Outcomes

Our solution significantly improved communication between patients and providers, leading to better patient outcomes and more efficient treatment processes. Additionally, our team provided a threefold increase in project throughput and velocity over the firm we displaced, which reduced the overall duration of the project.
