A Modern and Secure Application for the Mechanical Contractors Association of Georgia

challenge

An Aging Application

MCAG was using a 20+ year-old, custom application developed using aging and inadequate technology (VB6 and MS Access) to manage their business. The organization needed an updated core business platform in order to scale with growth, keep up with modern infrastructure standards, and operate at a low cost with a low level of maintenance.

A Modern Technology Stack

The Sparq team completely rebuilt the application utilizing a modern technology stack (.NET, Angular) and moved it to the AWS cloud. AWS technologies utilized include RDS (MySQL), S3, CloudWatch, EC2, Route53, CodeCommit, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy.

A Cost-Effective, Scalable Solution

By utilizing a suite of light-weight yet powerful AWS services, the final product provided MCAG with a cost effective, scalable solution that could be maintained at a very low cost. The product is now far less susceptible to third party changes such as OS upgrades and legacy infrastructure.
