Modernized Mobile & Web to Increase Revenue for Global Insurance Provider

challenge

Modernization and Upgrades Needed for Two Revenue-Generating Applications

Our client, a Fortune 500 global provider of insurance and risk management products and services, had two major challenges on their hands. First, they needed to satisfy the demands for new mobile application features from a large client. Their current partner couldn’t provide the level of mobile expertise and leadership needed to take this application to the next level. Without some much-needed upgrades, they were at risk of losing one of their largest clients. Next, they needed to update their customer-facing web application so that they could consistently pull policy information without having to replicate each customer’s insurance contract-template content. This would greatly reduce time-consuming manual processes. They also needed to accelerate their new and existing customer onboarding timelines which would improve their time-to-revenue.

solution

New Features and Removed Gaps

To address these challenges, we had two teams working concurrently alongside our client. For the mobile application, our team led the redesign of the Agile processes to accelerate development in order to meet our client’s customer’s feature improvement needs. For the web application, our team moved our client to a new global self-service platform and removed the gaps between legacy and new platforms enabling customers to file claims online and supporting white-labels for other products. Go-forward engineering will benefit from the foundational Micro Front-End (MFE) services that were introduced for reuse across future client projects.

Revenue Retention, Improved Time-to-Revenue and Reduced Engineering Costs

Our partnership led our client to improving their time-to-revenue, retaining their revenue for one of their largest clients and reducing engineering costs for go-forward projects. Additionally, by sharing our expertise on the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles, our Technical Product Owners helped our client implement more business aligned and efficient development practices for an increase in quality and productivity.
