New Features and Better Usability for Growing GovTech Platform

challenge

Updates Needed to Unlock Continued Growth

Edquity (now Beam) is an evidence-based emergency aid management software that was initially focused on university students facing difficulty paying their fees: in this platform, they could access grants in an easy, less bureaucratic way. This platform presented some technical issues and debts that our client needed to overcome. They were also looking to expand the platform and add new functionalities, such as ERAP and other financial aid mechanisms for additional revenue growth opportunities. To achieve that, they needed to elevate their software development and deliver a much more robust product.

STAFFING AND POWERING UP A DEV TEAM

Our React and Node developers blended in with the client’s in-house team to expand their development capacity. An important part of the project was developing the user application forms, which included several questions and validation aspects. Another significant part of the engagement was creating the administrative dashboard for managing the requests. The platform required a high level of customization, since its key features were developed from scratch without the use of libraries or other tools. To ensure the quality of our solution, we had a strong focus on testing and followed coding best practices closely.

Better Usability, Primed for Additional Growth

The platform is now primed with the new features that will propel our client’s growth. It also has a much simpler process for the 150K+ people that have been using it. Now, people in need can reach for help in a faster, simpler way, with less red tape than they’d encounter with other platforms. Beam’s end goal is to create a more equitable society and to generate a strong platform that can be easily incorporated and implemented in different US cities and grant over 140M dollars to people in need.
