Our Mission in Action: Natascha Thomas
Our Mission in Action showcases Sparq colleagues who represent how our mission impacts individuals and the communities in which we operate.
Today sourcing professionals are faced with new challenges and new priorities in finding and maintaining a healthy chain of suppliers. The emphasis has moved away from negotiating the lowest price to negotiating the best value, and this includes environmental and social value, as well as best value in terms of results on the financial balance sheet.
One key related strategy taking hold in leading organizations is socially responsible sourcing, or impact sourcing. This strategy focuses on outsourcing jobs and supply chains to economically disadvantaged communities and/or populations.
Sparq was founded with the goal of helping clients advance their businesses using teams of talented, qualified IT professionals living in Middle America cities. These cities and those with technology aspirations who prefer to live there have been left behind in today’s digital economy. These individuals either don’t want to move from their home town to establish a career in IT, or they wish to re-locate or return to these locations for a better quality of life, lower cost of living or proximity to family.
We seek to create a strong sense of belonging and inclusion among all colleagues while creating new high tech jobs in the United States. Our mission is to provide an inclusive and respectful environment where all employees feel welcome and valued. We’re proud to have increased the proportion of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) colleagues by 60% and women colleagues by 25% in the past year.
