ATLANTA, October 23, 2012 – Rural Sourcing is partnering with the Georgia Department of Education to put on the first annual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) Festival in Augusta. The STEM Festival will be held Friday, October 26th from 9am – 2pm at Augusta Technical College in Building 1300, the Student Services Building on the south end of campus.
The goal of the STEM Festival is to provide high school and middle school students in the CSRA with exposure to the exciting, future career opportunities available in fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math. The approximately 200 STEM Festival student participants will be comprised of nine local high schools and one local middle school.
20 exhibitors in STEM-related lines of business are scheduled to participate in this event, including groups from Rural Sourcing Inc., Texas Instruments, and Savannah River Site. Rural Sourcing will be the lunch sponsor for the exhibitors and has been the driving force in getting this STEM Festival to the Augusta region.
