ATLANTA, October 2, 2012 – Rural Sourcing is partnering with the City of Augusta to put on a Hackathon during their annual Westobou Festival in downtown Augusta, GA. The Hackathon will be held Friday, October 5th from 2pm – 7pm at the Augusta Riverwalk Ampitheater in Augusta, GA.
The goal of the Hackathon is to create a mobile website for the City of Augusta that allows users to interactively view all of the key historical points of interest around Augusta. Hackathon participants will be comprised mostly of college students from local colleges and universities, including Augusta State University and University of South Carolina – Aiken.
Members of the judging panel include Mayor Deke Copenhavor, CEO of Rural Sourcing Monty Hamilton, Co-Organizer of HackAugusta Eric Parker, and Social Media Entrepreneur Josh Bolen. Winners of the Hackathon will receive various prizes including a paid internship with the City of Augusta to complete their mobile website for the city.
