Rural Sourcing Promotes Jeanne Schmidt to Lead OKC Development Center

OKLAHOMA CITY (March 23, 2022) – Rural Sourcing, the leader in onshore remote software development, has promoted Jeanne Schmidt to lead the Oklahoma City Development Center. In her new role as Development Center Director, Schmidt will lead more than 125 colleagues in the OKC center to develop software and solutions for some of the country’s largest and most respected brands as they invest in digital acceleration.

Prior to joining Rural Sourcing in 2013, Schmidt worked in senior Quality Assurance (QA) and Product Management roles for a number of companies, including Peoplesoft for over 10 years. She joined Rural Sourcing as a Senior Principal Consultant, where she led the QA practice and advised clients on Agile development and testing best practices. She has also served as the Augusta lead for Rural Sourcing’s internal Women’s Colleague Resource Group. In all, she brings more than 30 years of industry experience to her new leadership role.

“Rural Sourcing is continuing to grow at a rapid pace,” said Ingrid Curtis, President of Rural Sourcing. “Expanding and retaining our talent in Oklahoma City is critical to enable this growth. Jeanne Schmidt has demonstrated a passion for teaching and mentoring, which will be invaluable for her new role. Since she joined Rural Sourcing eight years ago, she has made a major impact on our colleagues, clients and community.”

Rural Sourcing’s US-based outsourcing model has helped the company achieve incredible success in recent years. In 2021, the company acquired Centare, a digital business and technology consultancy based in Wisconsin, and announced the opening of two new development centers in Baton Rouge, LA and Buffalo, NY. In her role, Schmidt will ensure that Rural Sourcing will continue to play a role in the growth of Oklahoma City as a tech hub.

“I’ve always been impressed by the talent we have in OKC,” said Jeanne Schmidt, director, Oklahoma City Development Center for Rural Sourcing. “Taking this new role, I am excited to work with our colleagues to grow their skills and deliver results for clients. Being located in an emerging tech hub gives us a unique opportunity to make an impact both in our city and industry.”

Rural Sourcing is committed to its mission of creating high-quality technology careers throughout Middle America and making an impact in the communities in which it operates. Bain Capital Double Impact, the impact investing business of Bain Capital, acquired a majority stake in the company in 2019, allowing Rural Sourcing to continue to expand its digital offerings across the US with ten development centers in mid-sized cities throughout the country.
